York Edible Schools
Aims:
- To increase and coordinate the number of schools across CYC that are involved in growing activities on their school site
- To provide schools with the knowledge, skills and understanding about the benefits of growing AND eating your own fruit and vegetables
- To facilitate a partnership approach to growing in schools, based on mutual support between schools and supporting organisations.
York Edible Schools operates informally now.

During the school closures Edible York worked directly with parents and carers who are home-schooling.
This is what we did:
- Made five videos about growing from seeds at home,
- Made two videos of activities using vegetables,
- Encouraged families to use our Seed Stations as a handy way of finding seeds, pots and compost whilst shopping has been difficult.
